These were great coasters. I engrave them and sell them on my e commerce site. These felt more high end and sturdy than any others that I have ordered and I have tried several brands.Ad says black, but they’re definitely gray. I also put my drink on it and the marble didn’t absorb and the wood did and stained. I give them a definite durability star. I could throw this thing on the ground and I don’t think it would break, but it’s also attractive to my one year old for the same reason, ha! Overall, I like them but not super happy it’s not black black. There’s ways to get there and it feels they skimped.Very pretty, not sure about the absorbency yet. What a stupid idea for a set of coasters. Design them using wood that instantly absorbs moisture from cold beverages and stains the underlying surface and makes the coasters, which look nice as visual expressions, bleed and degrade. Do not buy, not suitable as coasters. These are very nice quality coasters. I bought two sets. Neither set is black. I even tried putting a little lemon oil on them - still what I would call graphite gray. If black is important in your decorating scheme, I would pass on these. I really like them. They seem to be very nice quality. I like the feet on the back side. I’m happy. I just think the company that makes these needs to post accurate photos and change the description.
